Glad to hear all the teams arrived safely. Now to see what happens on a different track. I suppose just as In 1:1 Each track has its differences.
Cheers

Good to hear that they made it on time, Bob. Have fun running them; they are a great group of cars to race!

Here’s hoping this is a track for a car with great brakes, that’s my only hope.

Long day at the track! Congratulations to the top finishers :handgestures-thumbup: :handgestures-thumbup: Both audi1 and Smokeio’s cars are in a class by themselves. Both cars had very good speed, which could be carried through the corners and out on to the straights because of their excellent handling.

Other cars had faster straightaway speed, but were harder to tame in the turns.

Most all the original comments from Round 1 were pretty much the same as I found. I will review them later today.

Cars #11 & 31 had guides that were too long and dragged. An SCC setup block would help here. Shameless plug!

Many cars had a lot of hop or chatter and untrue wheels causing desolts in the corners and on acceleration. Though there were only a handful of deslots, the chatter didn’t allow the car to maintain speed through the turns.

What I would like to know is the tire selection for each car and see if it also correlates to the Qualifying results. Cornerstone doesn’t do great with non silicone tires, but most of these cars hooked up very well. Again, only a handful were very loose, and that may not have been tires.

Great cars, great builds, now on to the race!

Stock rubber on the 47. Probly part of the prob, tho I thought there was a braid contact issue, I should've pulled that motor due to a hunch.

Nice job all, Thanks for the run!!

My Ti-22, #22, is on NSR Ultragrips.

I am also curious to see tire selections throughout the field. Tires mandated for this Proxy were either urethane or rubber, any brand.

For those unfamiliar with the performance contrasts between urethane and rubber tires, as I was, a telling comment was made by Munter from New Zealand after he did shake down runs on the 2017 Ford – Porsche Proxy cars. Two of his notes:

3) NSR ultragrip tires give the best grip
4) Glued and trued ultragrip NSR tires give better grip

I suspect that, if you’re not running a soft rubber tire, your chances of finishing near the top of this Proxy are slim.

While choice of tire is critical, it may be just as important that they were glued and trued well. The process of finely tuning well trued tires is not well publicized, as far as I know.

Given chassis that are well set up and balanced, and there are many in this Proxy, the differences in results are likely due to tire choice and prep.

Expert tuners, I welcome your comments.

Thanks for the qualy results, Bob. It takes a lot of time to prep the track and do a full qualy on 36 cars! We appreciate the effort!

Looks like it will be a fast race!

The #2 car is on NSR Ultraprips.

# 65 is on Thunderslot tires, glued but not trued.
An experiment.

Looks like it’s going to be a long season for poor Frank Capua... The 25 car is on trued PGTs. Guess one should stay clear of using the stock MRRC guide flag for a proxy car...
