Well Ladies and Germs the 100 sided dice has been rolled for qualifying and the tires have been prep with cooking oil. Soon the race will start......................I"m just kidding of course the box just got opened and the track is just on warm up. Pictures will follow soon..............very very soon. I'll be your host with the most Fozzy Bear strait out of Calgary Alberta at the one and only 6 lanes of madness Copperhead.

Copperhead is a 52 foot (roughly) wood track that has been in operation for RMR slot car club in Calgary Alberta. This is its last race as it will be taken down for moving. It uses a latex Bear Marque Flat water based paint for a surface with 3 1/4 spacing. The club operates at 10 volts not as a solid rule but seems to average out our 10 classes.

The Slot themselves are an 11 cab copper tape that does have multiple repairs in it. The surface itself is only cleaned with a swiffer McLaren zamboni. Seen in the picture above.

Interesting looking track. OK guys lets get that Hemi Dodge up front. Push that pony car that Mustang Sally rode a little bit up the leader board as well. I don't think this is a 1965 however!!! :D

Round 3 qualifying was done on the yellow track in a time trial based setup starting with the slowest car. The modified class is last. We chose the yellow lane of doom. Its one of the hardest lanes with both long sweeping corners hairpins and the worst anti-banking turn ever seen in slot cars. Talk about being unloaded uphill and out of luck. On the plus side we did choose our exalted leader for qualifying THE ONE AND ONLY TTT. He is currently ranked 1st of 15 with the gold trophy. This year has been one of his best. We don't count his wins, we count his 2nd and 3rds and so far no one has even had to take off there shoes. He is one of our best tuners, and without argument our best driver. Strengths include hi level of tuning extreme speed both in corners and straits, extensive knowledge of track layout, and seems to be able to drive the wheels off a turd. Weakness: I wish i knew. This far inner lane and driver where both warmed up for a minimum of 100 laps. Honestly i don't actually count you know when your track is hot or not.

No thats not a typo the 2 boat anchors did actually manage to tie to the thousandth of a second. We didn't notice it until we started ranking.

As a small note each car got 5 laps the fastest of them being your qualifying lap. Again all done by TTT in the yellow lane. We even managed to keep the gas attacks to a minimum after all this isn't club racing and biological warfare isn't needed.

Just before running the cars threw qualifying we did do quick visual inspection on each car just to make sure they had no damage. Someone lost a front valance in transport (weight reduction) that wasn't repaired by us the valance (lower front scoop) most likely from a mustang will be sent with the cars. Other than some very minor brush adjustments all cars worked perfect. No screws where touched we had zero crashes. Aside from a few spin outs getting use to the cars before qualifying things went perfect.

The final results and the picture of our board will be posted....................in a few days because i'm Fozzy and cruel. Also i forgot who bribed me so please send the info of what you bribed me with and what you car number is to imonlykidding@live.com. A little bit of info on our setup for the main run. We ran it in Princess Cup configuration. This means Yellow lane Red lane and Purple lane. This is every other lane from a 6 lane course. In other words lane spacing is double as this is a time trial and regular aggressive racing should be avoided. The cars have a 6 1/2 inch spacing for most of the course with a 3 1/4 in the squeeze lanes. Our Drivers included myself Fozzy Bear in the red lane. 5th over all this season with a fall from grace as the last 2 seasons i had held the silver trophy in second. I like loose tracks loose cars and loose women. I hate loose axles and torque steer. In the Purple lane we have Double AA-Ron 5000. I'm pretty sure he's a robot. He is also our current 6th over all driver and was chosen due to that fact that this kid is good with every type of car and setup. He's the youngest of all the drivers but make no mistake he gives no quarter, knows Copperhead inside and out, and is fast beyond belief. I've had a rivalry with him for years. Strengths : Can drive a poor car good and a good car even better (wheels optional) Adaptability in a driver is a huge strength shown across all 10 of RMR's classes. Weakness : Gas attacks, and any McDonalds livery especially combined with the phrase "would you like fries with that" or "ba da ba ba ba............i'm loving it" as he gets passed. He seems to loose focus after that.

Well, both of my cars qualified in 3rd place. Hopefully they will race better. Got to teach those "Pony Cars" a lesson in Modified Class.
Can I make up for .4 deficit in the stock class? Time will tell.
