SCCA Proxy - Build Thread

My humble entry for this great proxy leaves tomorrow in the mail:

Details are:

Resilient Resins body, with a scratch built interior, ScaleAuto guide, BWA Wheels and inserts front and rear, Slot.it N18 tires on the rear, PoliCar slimline motor, with Slot.it gears (10:32).

Initial tests were promising, so here's hoping this car will do well over the length of the event.

I'm getting there. I scored an old AMT 63 Vette off the bay at a reasonable price. It had to be stripped and then repainted and I lost the decals. ( My wife cleaned up after me) My fault really. I came as close as I could to the original decals by using leftover. I am missing the A P decals which kinds bums me out but I think it turned out ok. I am currently working on the interior and will do a little more tuning then off she goes. I 'll post another pic when it's complete. The cutouts are for exhaust. While doing research I spotted one had exhaust like this and copied the look. Not sure they will make it through the proxy. It sits on a Penelope Pitlane chassis and SCC wheels .

Three more cars arrived while I was away - will get photos up later today.

Separately, I'll be away Sept 11-26, but my mail will be held at our local post office, so all of the cars that arrive during that time will be safe and well stored. it's a small town - everybody knows everybody.

Well finally getting started with my entries for this proxy. After seeing other entries I just hope the Ferrari isn't to top heavy and can get around the corners. I will try to make a better performer out of it than the one running in the IPS proxy. The challenge will be on the 911. The chassis sits way below the body as is. This is a chassis from National Racers. Just looked at the pictures on the Shapeways site. :think: I'll figure it out.

UM this doesn't look promising. I think I'll be trimming the mounting post.

arroldn that just doesn't look right. I would put the pod and wheels on before any cutting just to see how every thing sets.

My thoughts as well. Pod should arrive this week along with wheels, tires and motor.
