Round #3 - Rockledge Raceway, CT

Rockledge Raceway, Enfield CT

The cars have arrived from Cornerstone Raceway, the previous round. I am checking with the owner of the track to get specifics worked out for the scheduling of this race. We were scheduled to hold the race in late November. The preceding two races have run quickly and now we have the cars. One car was sent back to the owner for repairs and there should be plenty of time to get it back to us in time to re-join the fray. We will try to qualify this weekend or next and then we will most likely run the race on November 14. Several members of our group is participating in a 12-hour Endurance race at Area 51 on November 10 so our time will be taken by getting ready for the Enduro.

This is our second biggest track in our CT group of four tracks. It is a fun, sweeping road course and the SCCA cars will look awesome on this track. The track is 4-lanes, has elevation changes and it is an absolute joy to drive! We hosted Sprite proxies and Trans Am proxies on this track. Since I have a pony in the race, I won't be driving, although I wish I could! I love this track. Instead, I will be your Race Director for the event. We are all looking forward to it and it should be a lot of fun racing this beautiful group of cars!

So everybody is bringing their spin to race reporting. We will include beauty shots as usual along with the specifications and race stats, but something we've done in the past is to record/broadcast the race on Facebook. I know a lot of people don't have or like FB, but for those that do, you can watch the race live, and then the race is kept on FB as a video to watch at your convenience, so whether you are in the same time zone as Connecticut (where?) or in Greece or NZ, you can watch the race. We first did this with a Trans Am proxy race and a few times with the Sprite proxy and we received a lot of favorable comments, so hopefully we can bring something a little different and fun to the table for the proxy reporting!

Just get that #15 Cheetha up to the top of the pack in qualifying...can't believe she is not doing well so far...I hope she can gain some ground as the series goes on.

OK - I got with Jeremy (track owner) and we have formulated a schedule. Jeremy and I will qualify on Tuesday 11- 12 and the entire crew will race on the following day, Wednesday 11-13. I had hoped we might have a week in betweenqualifying and racing, but schedules will not permit so we will get this done this week. Facebook information to follow for the Wed. race.

Great pictures and nice track layout. Good luck to all the builders and congratulations to the podium builders. Will Sir Gascarnut pull this one off or will Dave or Sir Chris gain a second victory? Or will the Corvette or Jaguar get off the last corner just a little better as it heads to the start finish line and take a win? Can't wait for the results.

Again, your work is appreciated. Not sure what the problem is with the shiny Cheetah. Wheels and tires were trued. My track is painted Carrera and the car is/was smooth. Maybe the surface difference between wood and plastic? Maybe just a poor job at the Tire Razor? Looking forward to race results.
