Hello All,
The cars have moved onto Round 6 at Redfield Raceway located in Sandy Springs, GA. The track is 4-lanes cut into rolling desert hills. Track voltage is 10volts, and track surface is brushed on flat latex.

For qualifying, each car was run for 10 laps on the green lane and the cars were qualified in random order. The qualifying results are below from earlier this week!

Qualifying Podium
1st - #2
2nd - #63
3rd - #8
The race was run last night, and there was a bit of a shake-up compared to qualifying. Stay tuned!

Looks like a fast track; looking forward to seeing the race results.

And the race results are....?
Not expecting too much 'cause #366 qualified nearer the front this time... a sure sign that it tanked on race day. :laughing-rolling:

Results are in! Each heat was 3 minutes this time (instead of the 2minutes on my track), and the same drivers stayed on the lane as the cars rotated.
Podium:
1st: #8
2nd: #66
3rd: #63

Congrats to the podiumites - these cars are a blast to drive, especially the top grouping. There were cars that drove better and felt right at home on this track compared to my track, and all we could think of is the slightly different track surface is allowing more cars to grip. This track is finished with flat latex, but it was brushed on instead of rolled with a foam roller. It may not make a diddly difference, but there sure were closer racing in this round than the previous.

#62 had a lead wire come off with about a minute left, therefore it lost roughly 6 laps from its total. I've re-installed the wire and it is good to go. The pink #23's gears are wearing down. Honestly not sure how much longer it will last - I'm not sure what the rules are in regards to repairs, but this one needs a close eye on for the next round.
The cars are boxed up and ready to ship to Butch for the next round. I was planning on shipping the package over the weekend, but we picked up our new puppy and I could not get away all weekend. Cars will ship when I'm back in town this coming Wednesday. Thanks again, folks, for allowing us to race your cars!

Thanks to all who had a hand in getting Round 6 completed. Congratulations to our podium finishers and Leadfoot for his first podium. Maybe there is hope for the 112 yet.

Thanks Tony, Mark and crew for running Round #6 for us. You're right - the racing looked closer in this Round and I can tell that there will be come changes in the leaderboard standings after the two Southern curcuit rounds are in the books.
New up - the great mid-West with Butch (pappy) and his crew for Round #7!

Thanks for hosting, and getting a BARC car into a top ten position. Interesting how the track surface can make such a difference. I guess not surprising when one thinks about how traction plays such a key roll in a cars perfromance.
On to the next race!

Thanks guys for getting #97 car back in the top 10 again. Also thank you for noticing the work in the car. I went way outside the box (for me) on this one.

Mark i think the gear noise on my 23 car is due to a flex in the chassis by the motor and axle mounts. It can be corrected by realigning it.
Just not sure how long it will stay realigned anyway.
It seems to want to establish its own offset so to speak.
Cheers
Bob
