Ender 3 Wear and Tear

Postby Gameover » Sat Feb 02, 2019 10:31 pm

Just wanted to share a very important mod on the Ender 3.

I have done quite a bit of printing since getting my new printer. I went and printed a few filament guide mods as my first prints. Well after Harry and Doc posted about the filament feeder upgrade i decided too take a closer look at my mods and my stock straight from factory plastic one........

And wow. Look at the wear they took. Keep in mind the top one took the same but you get the idea.

So i searched for a better mod. This one isnt completely free like he last one i printed. It takes the bearings from a figit spinner. You know the ones all the kids have......

My kids have many! So i snuck one as they will never know :) and printed these. The links are below

I was surprised how fast my extruder became worn.
Yesterday I replaced the XT60 connector on the power supply, mine was getting too warm for me to feel comfortable. On the original one, one side was soldered, the other was crimped.

Steve - funny, cuz I'd ordered my aluminum extruder on Thursday as I had my filament get hung up on the "new" part I'd made. Figit spinner in the house, as soon as I can get it up and running again, I'll be making the parts to guide the filament too.

Doc these new guides really line the filament up to go straight into the feeder too. More adjustable as well prolly the best mod ive found so far.
