rainy weekend builds

Postby btaylor » Wed Dec 05, 2018 9:19 am

Slow getting these posted, but its been busy round here. We had a ridiculous amount of rain over the last weekend, so I spent a lot of time at the bench. I ended up building an Edmonds modified, another midget, and one more Lindberg Super Mod. I still need to cast some inserts for the Edmonds, but all are up and making laps.
All are on brass chassis' of my own design, using my tires and driver figures. Decals are from the bin, and are quite a mix up. Wheels are a mix from the parts bin as well this time, as are the crown gears. Just using up some old parts before another big order. All are using slotting plus deep wood guides till I get my printed versions to act right. SCC competition braid is used on all. Midget has a BWA Slimcan, Edmonds car has a piranha, whereas the super mod has an H&R lightning in it.

I imagine stepping into Bob's shop would look like one of those "time-lapse" fast forward films.......... :text-bravo:

Sorry Bob,

It'd been sloppy wet here in the PacNW, so I wished that rain away. Now its sunny and FREEZING

The added details in your builds always pull my eye into the frame.

Killer cool!

Bob I am away a lot at the moment, when I come back and see your posts I am always so inspired, every car.... without exception makes me want to build one, along with Harry's recent beach racers which are also fantasic, Just the box art on his kits is amazing.
We don't have anything like this in the uk very often (occasional e.bay perhaps).
Your figures are also really good, very real with hands in pockets and middle age, middle waist spreads.

Thank you for your posts Bob.

These are so impressive with those radius rods and similar detail. Takes a strong will and fine hand. You're a better builder than I am by far!
