2019 TransAm Proxy - Round #1 The River Run

4424ever is in the house, so we now have a full field of 27 cars!

Qualy will be tomorrow morning with Bob Bianchi from Slot Car Corner coming down to do the honors. :handgestures-thumbup:

The race is planned for this coming Saturday morning, but we remain short one driver. If we can't fill that spot, then the first Round will have to be pushed out to next weekend (30th, 31st) as I will be away on business from the 23rd to the 28th. I'll keep you updated as we get closer to Saturday.

The qualy is in the books!

Bob Bianchi from SCC came down this morning and put the field through is paces for the Round #1 qualy session - thanks Bob!

Before the qualy, the track was wiped down with a tack cloth to remove any loose dust. The qualy was run in the middle (white) lane and each car was run for 10 practice laps prior to bein run for an additional 10 laps for best time. The tires on each car were cleaned with a sticky pad prior to the practice session and, again, just before entering into the best lap session.

Congratulations Smokieo, and the top five. 21st is not where I was expecting to land with the way the car out performed last years times. Hopefully it will race better.

Here's the break-out on chassis; roughly 1/2 the field on 3DP:

1. 3DP - 13
2. Stock - 6
2. HRS-2 - 4
3. Brass - 2
4. Hybrid (avant/podded) - 1
5. Custom plastic - 1

In the qualy, 3DP chassis cars ran #1 and #3; HRS-2 chassis cars ran #2, #4 and #5.

UM Lookie there. Top five cars on non-stock chassis. From the picture of Smokieo's Mustang I thought it was stock. That guide support is huge.

Thanks for all the photos Allan, along with all your proxy coordinating. A very nice looking group of cars. The number 11 Camero caught my eye as being reserved and very well done.

Looks like the BARC Camaro will be battling at the bottom. I thought moving to the Avant chassis might bring an improvement to my results, but alas it does not appear so.

Will be fun to watch the races within the race in any case.

Congratulations to the fastest for their well tuned cars.

Holy Smokes - I've been so buried in building my own proxy car (pre war) - I forgot I'd have a few horses in this one. First and Third and a host of other cars!

Looking forward to racing at Allan's and seeing all the builds! Thank you to everyone who put trust and support into a CG chassis! I'll come up with a few freebies to send the cars home with when the proxy ends! Except for you Oli guys - you get pocket lint.... :o Just kidding!! It's all in good fun and good luck to everyone for the entire proxy!!

What a great looking field! Thanks Allan for making this happen, it’s always a great series. Maybe our little Barracuda will perform better why we have someone else’s fender to lean on...? Possibly?
