Group 5 Proxy - 2019 Results & Score-keeping

Sorry guys, the team numbers are accurate now. I was looking this morning and wondering why last's years spreadsheet for Teams was correct (cell number 62 in the formula) and then I remembered I found the mistake last year and fixed it but I did not update the master sheet for future use. OOPS!

Thanks Bov for catching that I really should of saved the fix last year on the master! Lesson learned!

Smokeio the Team USA number..... you got to keep winning!

Anything to bump up the USA score. Are you sure there's nothing wrong with that formula? I'm sure we can Youtube something to find some way to analyze and recalculate that so it goes up.

Halfway through and as the unofficial not the spokesperson for Team USA, we're not completely out yet and trust me when I CLEARLY say I SEE 2020 riddled with Team USA bringing a full on A game. Also isn't ChrisguyW in Florida now? That should count for the US. :D

Gentlemen here are the results after Round #5. Thank You Smokeio for volunteering to host two rounds, very much appreciated!

We have a new leader! Camber for the first time in two seasons is not sitting in first place.....Smokeio has moved ahead of Camber into first place followed closely behind by Cameron. It's going to be a tight finish!! Another note Jimmyslots has moved past F1Fan into third place. A few interesting groupings I notice too.

Team Pacific still doing very well in first place with strong finishes.

I think we should call the series now. I understand a zombie apocalypse is right around the corner. We really should send the cars back to everyone just in case they’re needed. You never know, a rubbered tired Slot Car to the head may just be the trick.

It’s an honor to be on top in this series but there are too many good cars in this field. It’s going to be a battle to the end.

Fantastic to see the competitiveness in this series...AGAIN! What looked like a runaway for Camber, has now turned into an amazing battle for spot uno, not only between the two entrants, but with such completely different approaches to the event.

#1 - Plafit metal chassis weighing 100+ grams and with a huge 30k motor
#70 - Plastic chassis with at least 20g less weight and a 25k motor

Then people wonder why there is not just one right answer to the question of how to build a winning proxy car!

Now we are heading back to Canada and the 2nd half of the series. We will be racing on the AMAZING new Mid BC track in Kelowna, as well as the new Edmonton monster with a 25? foot straight, and my new track measuring 50ft in lane lenght versus the 41 from before.



Interestingly all three new tracks are painted with the exact same CIL flat grey paint, and they are all new, so time will tell what the traction is like.

Gentlemen here is the updated overall standings, Camber has retaken the lead. With the Group 5 Proxy completing 6 races out of 10 I activated the lowest round score to be dropped off your totals. The biggest change seems to have affected Smokeio and Cgyracer...... they each had a race where they finished in 13th place. All of Smokeio's other race finishes were in the top 8 (3 first place finishes mind you!) and Cgyracer all the rest of his races were in the top 5 spots.

On the team side of the Proxy....the 6th round results was only the second time Team Canada has beaten Team Pacific. Team Pacific has a very healthy lead by 17 points. I'll post the original spreadsheet results later today as well.

Thanks Rob, appreciate the prompt updating.

Those 3, 4 and 5 positions are too close for my liking, nothing in it, not to mention the tie for 16th place (looks like DMN17 is having his best year ever and a bit of a surprise to see Audi1 (among others) outside the top 16.

Very close racing throughout the field, with some amazing new tracks coming up next. Will your car have the horses for these bigger courses?

Clearly I cocked up in my last post thinking Kelowna was the next round.
