I can confirm that starting next year, we will switch to GT3 type cars - the rules will otherwise remain the same, I will however add to the rules the following items:
1) the bodies will be GT3 and GTE LM cars from the approved list. Only cars that are listed will be allowed - they will be 2010 and newer
2) All cars must have clear windshields and where applicable clear side windows. The driver must be visible from the outside and the driver must have an imaginary line of sight out the front windshield.
3) All tyres must be black rubber
Thanks also for the input and your feedback, in addition to the comments from a competitive slot car perspective, I also want to ensure that we pay homage to the 1:1 racing series and the cars we race with will at least somewhat represent a field of cars that could race against each other in the real world. Thus I am sticking with cars 2010 and newer, and will add to the list the REVO Slot Viper, I will also keep the Area71 cars and the Ferrari & AM DBR (some evidence that Young Driver AMR - Fischer Racing raced that car until 2011) from Black Arrow. The Murcielago is not in period and will not be included. There is some evidence that the Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 by Reiter Engineering continue to race after 2010, so I will allow the Ninco Gallardo - please note rule #2 above for those that have plans to enter the Lightning version of that car.
Although I love the new Ford GTE I just do not feel that the car fits into this category, and since it is an extreme low production 1:1 car, I would like to exclude it from this series. Again there are so many choices I doubt it would be an issue.
Since the wings on these cars will be fragile, I am looking for some ideas on what can be allowed to strengthen the wing while keeping the scale and appearance of the car.
Here is the list - I am open to tweaking (but staying within the general theme as per the above) the list, please let me know your thoughts:
