Low Budget Slingshot:
Here is progress on my attempt to create a 1/32 period, low budget slingshot with, naturally, Ford flathead V8.
Here in the UK Texaco ran a promotion with various '40 Ford Trucks in 1/32 scale, I pinched an engine and front axle from one of these... perfect!
Squeezing the Piranha motor has been a challenge but I really like the look of full size cars with a low driver postition well behind the rear wheels. I think I will have a weight and balance issue here though
The plan is to continue to build a few more of these including a pair for my grandson along with a wooden track, the same as I quickly put together recently for myselef with some offcuts in the local DIY store. I particularly like the look of the wood with the copper tape, so I will just varnish the wood and enjoy it with just a couple of decals or so.
Thanks for this event Todd!
