Thanks for the feedback about the scale (1/64 rather than HO) and body & track width stuff. I stopped by Modelville Hobbies in Ashland, MA one time a few years ago on a weekend and the place was packed for a 1/64 race meet. The cars were absolute rockets on the track - glued to the track with magnetic downforce and propelled by motors so much faster than what I remembered. Since I also remember when the 1/24 scale flying wedges evolved on commercial tracks for pure speed with no regard for realism with respect to being actual replicas of full scale raced cars, I get it.

It's certainly as reasonable for someone to be drawn to slot car racing for speed as it is for realism, so whatever makes it fun for the individual is what matters most.

These repaints are very well done representations of that Penske Camaro vibe.

The nice thing about HO racing is you can pick how fast you want to go or how much downforce you want.
By that I mean you could chose to race stock T-Jets that are slower & will slide in the corners or race in line rockets that are stuck down like glue, your choice.
I tend to like the slower cars nowadays just so I can see them.

Great work on those cars, Don!
Man, you've been busy!

Is the #36 car an AFX or T-Jet?

Wow, that #86 Camaro is a great looking car - you did an excellent job. I have the same car in 1/32 scale from Scalextric and it's a looker too.

As a Ford guy I also have to send some love for the Boss 302 Mustang. Dan Gurney has a superior resume compared to Dick Brown, but when you leave them side by side on the track overnight, Toy Story style, you never know what the outcome will be.

This was a very hard body to paint, The red spray paint came out like water and didn't cover very well. Ended up painting the red with a brush and it came out good. Learn a lot for the # 15 after I find a new body.

Looks so bad in the photo I can't post it. :text-nocomment:
