For those of us that recognize these cars as ones we saw in full size action, these bring back great memories. And since TMM has made HO replicas of the Best of the Best cars from the past few decades here's my challenge - who would you nominate to be included in a shoot out of the 10 best modified car/driver combinations? Each driver would get to go back in time and get the best car they drove, and bring it to this fantasy showdown. For fairness, I'm going to propose we ask Gary Balough not to select the 112 Batmobile, but he can use any other car he drove. In that case there might be 2 Grant King #73's in the race - Balough in one and Billy Osmun in the other.
I'm not going to list 10 nominees because it would be too hard to pick 9 and 10 with all the possibilities, but here are my top 5 drivers. They's get to pick what car to drive.
Billy Pauch, Bob McCreadie, Brett Hearn, Buzzie Reutimann, Gary Balough.
Who are you gonna nominate for a 10 car, 25 lap shoot out paying $10,000 to win? And, what regular weekly dirt track would host this event - OCFS, Nazareth, Rolling Wheels, Five Mile Point, Grandview, Big Diamond, Penn National, ...
