The constant rain has let me catch up a bit on the track. But first, the fetching Mrs. Reinecke made me these for the dungeon couch!
I did a little LED "Fluorescent" work for my old Rev/Monogram tower:
I added windows, the interior and spruced up the Marx repo furniture I'd gotten on eBay:
I then lit the pit stalls:
And built a small garage for the crews. Basswood and sandpaper mostly. LEDs for this as well.
How it all fits together:
What are the tire tracks to?
A resting place for old iron:
I also managed to get turf down on most of this section. I finally realized what was wrong with my static grass gun and it worked fantastic this time. Again, this is Colorado, so no manicured lawns here!
Thanks folks - I am very happy when puttering around doing scenery. Not remotely done with this section and have lots more to do.
Steve - cars should ship Wednesday- had a few orders ahead of yours but am caught up now.
A few folks have asked what the LEDs look like - here's how I did the pits - drill a hole in the post to run the wire:
These have adhesive backing and the "Dots" are pre-fluxed:
I used telephone wire to a junction block for all of the LEDs and it worked perfect for the low power needs.
I also just remembered that I wired and On/Off switch for the timing gantry LEDs.
A present for myself was getting a 27" monitor and a swing arm mount from Tiger Direct for next to nothing. My racing buddies all complain the 15" monitor is too hard to see from the far end of the track. That should be here early this week.
No biggie doc just had to give ya crap :). I'm afraid to even do the cuda cause I suck at painting lol. So I'll build a chassis for it and pretend I painted it lol
