If you have a straight clean cut you can then remove material from the edges using a sheet of sandpaper glued to a flat surface and rubbing the edges of the cut on it.
Gluing?...I like superglue but for plastic there may be something better. Only use epoxy/Araldite as a strengthener on the inside not as an actual adhesive to rejoin the body parts.
I sometimes use hotdog sticks cut and shaped as strengthening on the insides of resin bodies, runny superglue loves those and you can construct internal struts etc easily.
