Being that it's the end of the year, I was doing a little noodling about cars that I like to build and race and that don't' seem to get much action on the proxy circuit nowadays. The two that stand out most in my mind are the Can-Am cars and the Group C cars.
As a first step, I thought I'd ask the racers and modelers here if there's any interest in having a proxy series built around the old Group 7 Can-Am cars; the ones that raced in the 1966-74 era; Lolas, McLarens, Porsches, Chaparrals, Shadows, etc. If there is, then let me know and we can start looking more closely at it. 1/32 scale, plastic or 3D bodies, open chassis; maybe 22k rpm motor limit, open gearing, podded or non-podded, rubber or urethane tires, etc. No details at this point, just some ideas. Maybe 5 races in the US and 5 in Canada; to stick at least a little with the original idea behind the series when it began in the mid-'60's.
Any interest?
