This is my current project - Corsa Autodromo Seminterrato (Basement Raceway). It lives in my basement (no surprise there!) in Kennesaw, GA. As I am new to 1:32 racing (still have all my Aurora HO stuff from the 1960"s, packed away in boxes), I decided to use plastic track instead of committing to routed wood. This is a Carrera digital set (actually two sets and lots of extra track). I have painted the track with latex house paint.
I designed the track on a German track design program. It is approximately 95' of track with multiple lane changes and two pit areas, one for refueling and one for a pace car. The table is a modified "L" shape and is 11.5' x 15.5'. Since the room is 17'x25' there is room to access the track from all sides. I put it on casters so it can be moved into the corner when not racing.
I am currently using the Carrera transformer and the Carrera Ap for race control. My plans are to move to a computer based race control system - any recommendations? - and most likely a variable power supply.
Below are a number of photos. The first is the track as it is now. The remainder are construction photos. Our plans are to slowly complete racetrack landscaping. So far this thing is great fun!
Showing on my screen (win 10/firefox) as "image". If I right click "image" I get a pop up menu with view image which allows me to see pic.(and some very photogenic young ladies)
