Detailed wire wheel inserts for 1/25

Thought I would share this little trick with everyone. Those old Strombecker wheels that came on all of the early cars, can be transformed into some intricately detailed wire wheels for 1/25 sports and racing cars. the original wheel has an 1/8" axle, and that helps center the insert. They are almost a press fit in H&R Wheels, and are very close with pro trac's. They are of a two piece design, so you can paint them up real easy, and have the thick spoke that I think looks great on most early racers. here are some assembly shots showing them as they go together, and the last one is on a cut down wheel with period correct tire. I love them!

I like the way you utilize the original 1/8" axle hole for centering those - definitely makes for a great looking insert and is a great tip!
