Sprint Cars made Easy..All the sideways Action you need

Postby woodguy32 » Mon Dec 01, 2014 8:55 pm

Sorry HRW friends, I haven't been posting much lately.. with work and the second cancer deal, I have been away, But I been building all sorts of stuff, really enjoying the builds and hope to post a bunch real soon. HRW means a lot to me and helps me thru my troubles.. Thank You

Well I want a big big bunch of USAC Sprints for guys to run ....I have a built a bunch of sprint plus chassis cars in the past that take time to make with all the soldering and scratch building ..and we love racing these wild things, But we run just my cars..These guys are racers and not builders..

So I wanted to make a Sprintcar that anyone could build in no time..just a screwdriver and a drill ..So I molded and casted some parts and now a have a new class of 1/24 Sprint cars .. they run great too.. also casted the tires in urethane.

Yes.. sometimes you have to think outside of the box.. easy build for anyone .. very cheap.. Racing Champion Diecast found all over the bay ( got them at 10 to 15 bucks ( one reason the paint flakes off the wing and nobody wants them ) they run Awesome with simple FF-130SH motors which I got for a $1,50 ..and a few more slot parts you can get all the sideway action you need..

These look great - very realistic and yet no modeling time, paint or decals needed - they look good right out of the 'box'...

Sprint cars are tough builds and pretty complicated to scratch build. This has to be the most direct route to a scale-appearing Sprint Car slot car. Probably the best model-car to slot-car conversion, period.

I appreciate the economy and simplicity of the pieces, a well thought out project - and they are track tested!

I am an early adopter on this resin "conversion kit" - thanks for developing this one!

Thanks…. These make great no solder sprint car frames..easy to build..

They run great for me but a little on the heavy side which I like.. running 18,000k motors at 10 -12 volts.. you can feel these babies running on the track

If you want high speed comp cars I have used resin or even vacuum form parts…

I also cut the the front supports bars, and now you have an earlier style square frame sprint car.. I will post some pics soon..

They are brilliant, Wood, and great to see you're still in action.

Any chance of an "exploded" view of one?

David.
