I have no idea, but back in the mid 60's cars like that were often raced as supermodifieds in my area. I think that body started out as a coach, judging by the shape of the side windows. The original body was both shortened and narrowed. The picture shows a diorama of cars on a dirt track, at least a little mud spatter is needed!

There was a time in New England auto racing they took cars and made them lower, faster, and inherently more dangerous this was known as the Cut Down Era.They were eventually banned altogether.

My guess is, from the shape of the windshield frame, is a 39 or 40 Ford.

This car is a Wisconsin modified that started out as a '47 Chevy sedan. I believe the original owner has it back now, restored to the way it was when he first built it.

Incredible. The assembled knowledge on HRW amazes me after all these years of seeing it again and again. What has it been, 12 years? 13, 14?

We're amazing. We should take over Congress. At least we could pass a 7th grade Civics test! Not to mention we could educate people that cars are far more important and rewarding than anything those twerps believe in. Silly of course. The one thing we are likely to disagree on is that junk. We stick to the important stuff. CARS! Yea!
