I had an absolute blast building these cars this weekend. I wanted at least three to fill up my lanes on the new oval, but I just couldn't stop! These are builds three and four. All built on the same basic platform, using identical components. I use a scratch built brass tube chassis, with a .064 brass plate in front. it covers half the frame to add weight, and to allow body mounting. I use slotting plus deep wood guides, with grub screws to hold the wires in place. Gearing is 9/33, as I am using tall rear tires on these cars. Motors are all around 20k depending on what I have on the bench, but all cars run fairly equal. I use mostly cutdown H&R or Pro track wheels, with an occasional set of CB steelies if the build style calls for it. These 1:1 cars used a mix of wheels front to back, and even side to side, so scale modeling isn't affected by my wheel choices. Anyway, here are builds 3 and 4. If you have never built a 1/25 Lindberg super mod, I suggest you get your hand s on the double kit and have it. They are just to much fun to imagine!
