Galaxie Street Stocker

One of our local guys, Kevin, brought in this cool looking Galaxie.

It's an Eldon body mounted on an Artin chassis, and he's got it running pretty good. Now we just gotta get an oval track for him to race it on

Sounds like it's time to break out the router and braid.

Looks pretty cool to me :)

Sure it's an Eldon? Looks like the old Strombecker '62 Galaxie to me?

Either way... nice conversion!

LAMing, now that you say that, I believe you might be right...
Kevin may have said it was a Strombecker, and when I posted the pics, I must have had Eldon on my brain... :geek:

Hi again dungeon:

My first "serious" home set (my first one was an Eldon battery powered set) was a Strombecker "Monte Carlo" set from Sears. The set came with a lighted Ferrari Berlinetta and a Jag XKE coupe'. You could snap off the bodies and snap on one of additional bodies included which were the Ferrari Testa Rosa, and D-Jag, and a '62 Pontiac and '62 Galaxie, both with clear roof/window assemblies melted in place. I always thought the Pontiac and Galaxie both looked pretty good... but a bit small.

Sure had a lot of fun with that set.

Ahh... memories.

Always good for me to see another Ford Galaxie slot car racer. Nice job.
Somebody throw a box of old Revell track at that guy!

Enjoy the "FoMoCo" power... Ernie
