You can always tell when someone has been there, looking through the fence.

Long term dreams are as important as long term memories, right? If my fantasy ever happens (I've been dreaming about this for five years, since I talked to Harry about it), and I get everyone here at the same time, we'll have 8 acres of ground to be insane on (murder badminton-15 on a side), and a 60 year old dirt race track only 7 miles away- Southside Speedway. On a clear, moist night in the summer, I can hear them run. Not to mention the trailers with race cars that go by on Friday afternoon in front of my place. I estimate that if it ever happens, there will be at least 7 trips to the airport and 100 pounds of meat on the grill (yes, I can do it). That's not to mention a block of 30+ tickets (the number keeps growing- there's more of us all the time), to the track. My shop is 1600 air conditioned square feet, and the tools can be shifted to make room for lots of rented cots. We'll make a barracks! (Jenny, Cindy, Jamie, etc, may have to come in the house to get any peace- maybe not? They are great! Lynne, you too!) We may have to have a bathroom schedule, but it can be done! At least that's what I make myself believe. How about a hickory grilled egg cheese biscuit breakfast with a grits souffle? Someday, guys... someday.

I'm dreamin', and I'm plannin'! Meanwhile, these gatherings in the real world give me encouragement.

Nice shot. I've looked through that very spot! Of course, Jeremy had to get me a box...

Seems I'm not the only one that looks at the height of the Show-Me and thinks I'd need to wear heels. :D

Cool Shot Dave.My favorite spot at Harry's to watch the racing was just about there. At the end of the speedway........Speed,skill and fun were all involved.Bad to say I guess, but I enjoyed watching the cars run the oval about as much as racing my self..Harry's got the perfect set up.

Well thanks Rusty. I admit I enjoy watching all 4 lanes going as much as being one of the racers. I guess it's because it does not happen all the time and when it does it is a treat.

You need to pick a weekend. Let me know when you are ready to come up and trade some paint.
