week of jalopy racing!

Had a week off work getting ready for my oldest daughters wedding and related parties and such at my house.
needless to say,the mostly male crowd migrated to the shop to see what all the fuss was about (laughter)i can only say that the Crossroads speedway saw some heavy use ALL week,with the jalopies being the center of attention! everyone loved racing the lightweight coupes and sedans.We had all six lanes full most nights,and at least four lanes during the day.
Of the diverse crowd that attended,i was supprised to hear how many were so interested in slot racing! they didnt even know it still existed! a few went home wanting to get a track of there own,and were already thinking of where they could put one!
i have some pictures to post soon. cause' i know it aint real till they get on here! also have some more infield detail work finished,and i think it looks pretty good.

they are lionel #65 yard lights,very available,i think they are being repopped. Not particularly cheap.but well worth it!
you cant see good in the pictures,but the burn barrel glows and flashes like fire.

GREAT activity in the pit area, character of the buildings is super, where or how did you make the steel building?

Thumbs up on the Lionel lights, plus replacement bulbs are readily available.

That is very cool! That infield treatment definitely gives it the feel of a great dirt track!

That garage caused me to be in the doghouse! i actually "borrowed" that from one of the grandkids playsets. all good till they spotted it on the table!
hence the reason it is not weathered (yet)......
