new banked oval

Postby dcompton13 » Mon Mar 14, 2016 9:22 pm

Just recently built a 15x7 banked oval using a lot of info I found on this site, track is up and running but still needs lots of finishing touches.

4" lane spacing, used copper tape due to cost, plan to braid in the future.

Corners ended up at about 19 degrees of banking.

That is very nice! She oughta be a very fast track with that amount of banking.

Thank you!track is very fast, when I was planning things, 18-19 degrees didn't sound like a lot, it is.

Looking good. Yes, it's amazing how little we think we are banking it until we step back and look :)

Nice work, looks fun !
I really like the amount of banking.
With a group of racers ovals are great.

I like it. Put it on the circuit for the Forums Cup Proxy at SCI. Inspires me to maybe do something about my plastic track.

Looks real good.....One thing with the inside wall, desloted cars have no escape onto the infield from being ploued into by cars running the inside lane....

Thank you for the kind words to all.

2fer-we are running womp based late models and dirt modifieds, sprint cars, h&r based class and looking at asphalt mods also.

Woodman, the infield is open for access, walls on 3 sides, when I get trackmate system up and running will have call buttons at drivers stations

here is a pic of one of the drivers stations, 1/4" thick lexan mounted on mdf trim
