Those cars look really great! Back in the '60s many of the tracks in my area only had races for the midgets once a year. I was not sure if the were actually racing or just putting on a show. I believe that Savin Rock in West Haven, CT had midget races on a regular basis, I will have to check on that.

These 1/18 midgets are actually fairly close to scale 1/24 size of the 50's and 60's style Champ cars. This is the 51 Indy winner I built by cutting up a couple of the 1/18 midgets and trying to duplicate the blue print dimensions. Width is the hardest part, I varied the width so I could fit in a 13D motor and soldered brass chassis. I too, like the dark blue with gold lettering scheme!!
