padirtfan - not only are your cars very well done, they bring back great memories for me. Bobby Botcher in the 666, a car number I associate with Wayne Reutimann.

I also remember you built a bunch of 1/64th scale Grant King cars, and may have to search for the photos you've posted to verify what cars to consider for my builds. By the way, would you know if the #37 shown below (Steve Makocy?) is a King modified? It looks like one, but teams were also making copies that looked similar.

Slothead, That one doesn't look familiar to me although if it's from Middletown I only went there once. I was a regular at Flemington and Nazareth mostly but got out to Reading and East Windsor occasionally. If you want to see a pretty good history of Grant King cars check out http://www.3widespicturevault.com/3wide ... ars_01.htm. I always like the King Gremlins they were smallish and pretty advanced for modified at that time. I think they might have been the first to run inboard Kong's in the front. Frankie Schnieder got one and as I recall he didn't care for how it handled. He called it a hop toad. I always associate Wayne Reutimann with the Marinelli M1sedan, that was a beautifully done race car.
