What Size Is Your Oval

I have two. The big one is 7'-6" X 16'. four lane The small one is 4'X8' three lane. Both are D's so the width dimensions are deceptive since the corners are more like 6 ft radius on the big track with the D section bulging out to 7 1/2'. Believe it or not, I like playing on the little one the best.

Mine is a 7x18.5 4 lane oval flat on one end and 10 degrees on the other we race reality modifieds and super mods as well as parma fcrs .the mods and super mods run a H and R 40,000 rpm lighting2 motor and the parma run a 16d motor .lap times with the mods are 2sec. Flat and the super mods run 1.85 avg. Fcrs 1.90avg we run on battery power with a 2 amp charge while racing. I am building a new smaller track sized at 5 x 13 for the new 1/32 reality raceway modifieds .I have the proto type runs great will post one up soon

Ok, this is really weird, I've raced at Zombie Speedway a couple times and don't really remember any significant line-of-site issues. There is the possible distraction of the Elvis Dancing Lamp, a time or two my car unexpectedly de-slotted going down the backstretch, but I don't recall a post being any problem. I wouldn't shorten anything. That track is great fun.

Hello Oval thrill seekers...

Sorry.. I havent been around HRW as much as I wish too.. this second cancer hit Sucks... Just makes it hard to get the time to build and race..

With 3 completely different type Ovals here.. any size works and a blast.. My first dirt bullring Oval is only one sheet of MDF.. and most like the wildest little oval, Perfect sprint car track.. 4x8 of wild thrills crazy looping track



But.. The New Oval.. Freeport Speedway ...
I will be posting a build up on this track as soon as I get the pics organized..

Its AWESOME..16'x8' ...5 lane with squeezes on both ends..( It makes this Track... as close to real short tracking as you can get..) you can run this thing with as many ghost cars as you wish in any lane.... Big fun starting in the back in the pack and moving up.. had 15 cars once..

We had a bunch of Slot racers over here running who never run Ovals..and they all agree this track is funnest thing they ever ran on.. we holding bi weekly events when we can..

The Freeport track is fantastic - The 8' by 16' is just a great ratio, too much straight and it becomes an all motor race, the 2 to 1 is just a great balance of handling and power.

Looks like you have a bunch of builds there - even some Whelen Tour Modifieds - very cool.

I will be looking out for posts on the next wood track!

The only problem none of these slot guys out here have Oval style cars..so they run mine..haha..






This is so wrong but these are a blast to run.. But everyones favorite.. so wild and sideways..



and the new class..USAC Sprints slot cars.. I made a easy resin kit so anyone with a screwdriver and a drill can build these.. also has a driver.. I got over 20 of these in different build stages..This will be for all those who cant solder and build a car to race..1/24 scale.. more details on these in the forum later..

Wood, nice to see you're still in action - and how!

Love the Freeport Speedway, but still ambitious to do something like the Sawdust.Could you possibly give some hints on how to do the marking-out prior to routing? I've read your original post on this over and over, but I still can't work out how you did it.

The cars are out of this world too.
