Another great car brew!!!! Im working up to build another chassis like the one you sent. I just picked up some brass rod to do it. Now just need the time and mostly the patience you have! :)

The lighter coupe looks to be faster than any of the brass cars so far....same motor, gear ratio, wheelbase/track, tire size etc.
It needs the dropped guide in order to keep contact, since it's quite a bit lighter than the brass & picks the front a bit
& I didn't want to add weight, which defeats the purpose of a lighter car!!
(I stuck the guide arm to the frame with a bit of silicone to make it solid in order to do a comparison)
Since both the styrene chassis' I've done are hack jobs....I think I'll build a new one from scratch
designed as 1/32 from the start, & if I like it I may try to resin cast it. I've got a '37 Chevy coupe body that needs a chassis.
My dirt tires want to chatter when you're hard in the corner which is why I thought a lighter car would help eliminate that
& it does....(almost) The tires actually wear off most of the tread after 300 or 400 laps on my short track (15 minutes or so)
(I guess it's the tread pattern that gives too much side bite) I've got some harder Urethane that I haven't
opened up yet, so I think I'll cast some harder tires for the heavier cars & see what happens.......................
Curious to see what happens at Harry's????
This is the funnnn part of slots for me, trying to think "outside the box" & try something different.
Failure is 75% of the learning process.

Brew I see you are using the Reoflex urethane 40 shore , and going to, try the 50 shore.
I have used the Vitaflex urethane, same manufacturer and found it lasts a bit longer.
perhaps a bit more durable is the right word.
Also if you mix equal, parts of Shore 40 and shore 50, you end up, with shore 45.
Along with the black tint, I put a drop or 2 of red in aswell, and it must be a chemical reaction as the tires seem harder, but test the same onnthe durometer.
The tires still look black , but the dust has a rose tinge instead of gray lol.
I have been playing with mixes for a jumber of years now and those are somemof the things I have found.
