Poor Man's Exhaust

Not as nice as other you see, but I like using this method as it's super easy to bend the "pipes" using the solder.



I use the shrink tubing to make a "collector" of sorts. You can use aluminum or even plastic for the end pipe.

Once you insert the solder into the pipe, just use a drop of super glue inside. Between that and the shrink tubing, they are in tight.



Now they can be easily sprayed or brush painted.

Ok, back to the Skunkworks. Hope it helps some of you.

Actually Harry, that is probably a better way to do it than the brass way I've been doing..

You made a great looking set of headers as the solder seems easier to work with..
I'm going to try this out and see how it goes, I might get better results~

Great idea...have thought about that myself but as yet havent realised it.
You could try aluminium tubing too, if you are weight conscious.
Bent in the fingers of course.

Looks great Jon. Yes, you could use any material. With the cars we are building, the very slight weight difference isn't any factor though.

Thanks Harry. A while back I read about using solder but had forgotten, and I didn't know what size. One more dumb question, when you give diameter, like the 3/16 brass tubing is that ID or OD, thanks.
