Hot lapping before the bomber heat race, already got side damage..



Dueling for 1st in the main.. yup this is how we race.. pushing and shoving all around the track..





In full fender bending racing action.. too much fun.. slot car destruction… thats how much impact these cars have.. and its thick metal





and its ready for the next bomber race band still a barnstormer.. and yes I will be building more..

Good to see that great track getting pressed into real service!

Okay I have heard about some guys doing that foil thing years back, but I have never seen it done... I think this is the best thing - a perfect fit for those AMT full size bombers barreling around.

The foil looks a little thicker than the stuff we have in the kitchen drawer at home - it has a plausible crumple look, very scale... This has to be a ton of fun to race. Wow it would be perfect for the Figure 8s.

I guess you just burnish up the panels and stick them to your special cutaway body, and you have fresh bodywork again. So it's 'crawling from the wreckage, and into a brand new car...'

Looks like a lot of fun and laughs.

Best off though is you have a thriving race program running on the Freeport Speedway!

Like Chappy, I always wondered about doing that, but I never got to the stage where I looked for the foil. What is the thickness? Do you plan to do one that is painted? Maybe some 2000 grit foam-backed sanding disks cut up to face the guardrail with for paint scarring? I'm still thinking about how to make tire marks on it...

Just the signage alone is a blast from the past. Tuesday night was Bomber night. Everybody would get into the main, and so many cars would show up that they would have two of them.
