Strangebrew Coachworks #441 - My old team in 1/32

Had a box arrive the other day and inside was a model that just blew me away. You see, it was built and painted to match the car I crewed on as a youth. Mr. Brew did a fantastic job on this model. All I did was add the wheels.

First, check out this chassis work.



He has his own great style of building. The interior pan is actually thin brass sheet and it's all soldered as one. The body just rests on top and held with one screw.

But wait...there is more :)



SOMEBODY really got crafty :) I see a sneaky offset going on :auto-checkeredflag: Looks like this car is built to race.



The car looks great, just wonderfully done.

I cannot say enough about this model. What a great surprise. What is NO surprise is how it runs. This little Vega flat gets after it boys :) Looks like I need to tune my heap.

Looks like there will be some serious racing next weekend. Will there be videos taken of the action. Sure would like to see some since that is th e closest I could get to a front row seat. :)

Excellent! That's a wonderful surprise, and the picture of the 1:1 car really shows it. Great stuff.

I like this idea. Now someone can build me my old purple and gold Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud Altered Wheelbase 427 topped with a 6-71 Jimmy sticking out of the hood that I drove to school every day. Don't forget the parachute. And the built-in wet bar. That's believeable, right?

Harry, is there a hook behind that foam on the radiator? Is that how its mounted with only one screw? Also, I would really like a side view of that chassis. I think that might be applicable to a lot of situations. I have some Trans Am and Indy projects coming up after a flock of modifieds, and I'm planning to exploit a good idea as fast as my soldering iron can take me.

No hook. There is actually 2 mounts, but the one on the rear bumper isn't needed. The body sits snugly over the interior plate and only one screw is needed to keep it secure. The bars keep it aligned.



The flat tip screw in the front holds the engine. The hole to the left is the body mount plate.
