Great shots Harry, that 2A from Blairsville GA looks nice. Lots of good cars came from that area.
Thanks for sharing these.

Some great ideas here, kudos to the person who went to the trouble to gather and post them!
Now, I have a question....towards the end of the pictures, there is a nice red and white '56 Chevy #55 sponsored by Penningtons Race Shop.
What in heck is the white car behind it? Doesn't look too "merican"......

Have no idea. With the amount of work they do to these cars, it could be a handful of cars.
Thanks, I am adding more to the list over time.

Thanks for this Boss... Does give me some neat ideas for the paint job I may want to do...
Also, it's cool to see how they hauled racecars back then. Simple 2 axle open trailers behind pickups and 1 ton flatbed trucks. No fancy enclosed trailers or big rigs hauling a complete work shop with their car inside.

The white car in the background behind the 56 Chevy looks like an early fifties Chevy Fastback.

I don't think so. That is a curved roof, not a slant back like the Chevy, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac fastbacks. That's European, for sure, and I think there were a lot of drag cars with that body. I'll see if I can chase it down.
Meanwhile, that lovely blue and gold Chevelle, #83, raced just 5 miles from my back yard. I see the cars go by on Friday nights on trailers.

Wow, that Crosmobile is hot! Since it's part of this post I assume it qualifies for the Showdown. Anyone know which class it fits in with best - Sportsman or ASA? Who's working on the resin cast for this?
Also, so I can get my decals set up - what's the horsepower on this demon? A Chevy 350 crate motor is around 300 hp, while the 454 puts out 450 hp. Would I be out of line putting 450 H.P. on the hood for this build? Anyone making these wheel inserts?

No it doesn't. They are talking about a car seen in the background of another photo is all. :)
