Lots of Showdown-type stock car photos

I ran across this thread at the HAMBS Jalopy Journal site. Over 200 pages of vintage stock car photos and descriptions. Good ideas for paint and decals. Check out that number 7; wish I'd thought of that. Would cutting off the roof be acceptable for the Showdown?

That stripe around what's left of the grill makes me think of an Olds, but without the roofline it really is hard to tell.
