You're going Old Skool with that body style - reminds me of the late '70's and early 80's. Those pre-Syracuse 'Bat Mobile' days. Kenny Weld changed everything forever.

I build more current body style northeast dirt mods, originally from kid's school folder thin and shiny cardboard, and now using 11mm photo paper with body colors, stripes, and decals printed on.

If you make bodies from white paper, what do you do for body color and decals?

A mod on good old Artin. Good job so far.

Slothead, it's actually sheet styrene. I sand, prime, paint and decal like any plastic body. Yes the batmobile was the end of modified racing IMO but it was and engineering marvel at the time.

Harry, the Artin chassis is still a great platform to build on. With the toothbrush motor this thing hauls on my small oval.

Very interesting. I built most of my chassis from styrene, but haven't used it for bodies. I used to use toothbrush motors too, a salvage store had bunches of them with long can motors for $1. Over the years I've upgraded most to Professor Motor Hot Rod motors 'cause I'm using a 16v wall wart and they're not quite as twitchy.

Paint that bad boy a ruddy maroon and white, put a big 73 on the sides and channel Billy Osmun to take that Grant King Gremlin to the front pronto. In '78 - '79 Billy averaged 6 laps going from 18th to first at Orange County Fair Speedway. Buzzie in the #00 started 17th (2nd in points) and chased him to the front but had a hard time matching the torrid pace of the Grant King car with Osmun at the wheel. Great memories.

Hope you post photos of the car when done.

Slothead, you're close this is going to be the Statewide car that Billy Osmun ran for a bit. I saw him win at Syracuse in it.

David, thanks, that's high praise coming from the master of resin! There was a red JK from Colorado in front of me the other day on my way to work and I thought you might be visiting Pa. but couldn't remember the color of yours.

Rick, that is real scratchbuilding. Great job. Inspiring, too. I'm an old Artin fan, too.

You do know the reason David has that color on his vehicle is so he can be found from the air when he goes on these excursions... His Air Force Academy son, flyboy, etc. All that.
