I caught a Scalextric '69 Charger on clearance sale back in the summer. Kind of a shame to strip the fine paint job, but it had to be done. Here's my blank canvas. I'll probably do the chassis before I decide on paint.

Don't forget to take Scaley's hubcaps off! I have considered getting a bunch of these mistake cars to repaint. I hadn't seen them on clearance, but now I'll be looking for it. I have enjoyed Greenwood Vettes, Gran Torinos and some other unpopular cars as repaints because they run great and handle quite well with very little tuning. In the case of this car, the body is gorgeous, it just isn't the right car for that livery (and I agree they did a great job on the paint, etc), and sticks out like a sore thumb (and the silly hubcaps- what were they thinking?). But painted any other way that belongs on the body or a fantasy livery it looks great. And they handle pretty well, too, considering its a fairly heavy car. By the way, the hubcapped wheelsets look great on any street cars you want to do.

they make some great looking short trackers for sure. This X Harry Hyde/Bobby Issac Dodge, was a track champion in 71 here in Lou,.Ky.

Now that would make a damn fine slot car for sure. Perfect stance. Interesting front bars.

It would be pretty hard to do anything to mess up the lines of a '69 Charger. At least I hope so; I'll be doing some kind of fantasy livery. I'll try to make it worthy.

Here's the chassis. I want to get this thing done before the holidays, so I plan to get it painted and decaled soon. I have a color combo in mind.

If the body turns out like the chassis you've got a winner

I forgot to take pictures between paint and decals, so here it is, pretty much race-ready. It rolls on a no-frills chassis, but I did build in the independent fronts. The only body mods other than paint are enlarged wheel openings and a screened grill. I cut down the stock interior to clear the motor, repainted the driver, and gave ol' Walter a better roll bar. If the last race is an indicator, he's gonna need it.
And yeah, it's got a Hemi.
