Hi gang, I haven't posted for awhile on home racing world... just fresh made a 1/24 scale USAC sprint from the 1970's era... I used a AMT Grant King sprint car body, I added a 1/2 inch to a narrowed Parma womp... then added brass roll cage... decals from TCALS from New York...

Bob Elder is a "part time" member of our "Old Farts" coffee club at Micky D's every morning.
I see that car now & again at car shows in the area. It gets hauled around on a restored late 40's era flatbed.
Very slick build by the way...I'll show the pictures to Bob when he returns from his winter vacation in Florida.
He'll appreciate it.

Fantastic! Very familiar with the real car.
Found the decal website; will have to take a closer look. Nice to see the Jack Hewitt decals. Now, if I can find some for the Galles champ car....

Just a quick question about that awesomely built yellow sprint car.
Is someone resin casting the body parts for the old AMT Grant King sprint car?
Those kits are pretty pricey now, so my curiosity was piqued.
Again, an excellent job - that's real MODEL car racing! Enjoy... Ernie :>)

Great looking vintage sprinter. Was lucky enough to see it run quite a few times!

85 year old Mr. Bob Elder had coffee with us this morning & I showed the picts off for him.
He was impressed. His memory seems to be flawless when it comes to USAC.
He says the car appears to have a Stapp cage instead of a Grant King. He says the Grant King cage is larger.
According to Bob, George Snyder crashed the car over the wall at Winchester, breaking his arm,
& they replaced the Grant King cage at that time with the Stapp cage.
