Wow...Check out those COOL frame rails Eric! Talk about a uniquely original design...that's got it ...even a rear transverse leaf spring to boot. Man o man... I better raise my game some! Hard to beat the character of the old stuff. So many possibilities for unique builds...jalopys/skeeters,modifieds,nostalgia stockers and I think even a rat rod class would be a hoot with all the unique items that could be incorporated into a rat rod even though they aren't exactly a real race car...Ya just keep me thinkin Eric...Thanks for all the motivation ya bring to this forum!

Thank you, very much for your kind words. I can't imagine how you can "up your game" your models are already top league.
I just randomly found the Jalopys as I was rummaging through the archives.

I think I might try and build something a little earlier (1920's) too, a little like this: and this:


I wonder if I could make a copper body as there is so little of it?

Harry, who built that 32 ford coupe #7 California Pluot special? I commend the ingenious frame rails,spreader bar,and the tranverse rear spring...were the frame rails steel or brass and have any idea how they were fabed?

That '32 Ford jalopy in the first post looks to be one of Itchy's, who also owns Sick Puppy Raceway here in Weare, NH. He has built several flat rail cars like this with H&R Hawk motors & Velcro body mounts. His #13 has been the fastest jalopy I've driven. I'll be surprised if the one shown isn't another of his cars. Itchy has also has experience with full size hemi-powered pulling tractors. He also built skis for a RC plane so he could fly it up here in the winters. His latest build is a drag strip for the home/club group to use.
