Well, I am making a new chassis for the GTO Project. Since I am starting over, I'll post pics in case anyone is interested.



Started with a Pro Motor bracket. Measured and cut the 3/32nd square tubing to 4 inches.



Used Champion bushings and soldered in place.

Just getting started...will update as I can.

Hey, you have the tools out already from the other car, so why not keep building, eh?

Get outta town Harry. One neat project after another. Seriously how do you do it? Do you have slot minions in the mancave pumping out all these great cars?

Nifty chassis. I like those PM motor brackets, nice and narrow, but strong. :)

Used 1/8 square tubing to hold the front axle.

Given the distance the rear axle is from the ground, I used a 5/32nd square tub under it. It makes it about as close to parallel as I need it.

The guide tongue was made a long time ago. Pulled it from the scrap bin, used the hammer and made it flat. Sanded and shaped it to fit. Curly isn't happy with me taking things out of his stash...but hey, might as well use it right?





So we have a roller.

Body mounts strips. Might be crude looking but they get the job done.

I soldered a solid plate and trimmed out the center so the motor would clear.



Made an identical bracket for up front.



Used styrene sheet for my base. Just the way I like doing it. It is tacked in with hot glue, meaning I can slice it with a razor knife and adjust it.



Seems to be fine.

I like using the thin brass strip as I can bend it easily. This way I can adjust the body slightly without having to do anything major.

one of the most basic and effective chassis I've seen in a while, I like it, two thumbs up!
