Actually, David, I was shooting for you all to run (ruin) them Saturday. I must have chosen the wrong postal rate. When I was packing them up, the big tub slipped away from me and landed exactly on the "Ed" part of the driver's name. And I didn't have any more decals of a driver's name that was in bright yellow.

That stinks! I'm getting back on the plane and heading out to HRW tonight!

Those would have been a blast to run, and run them we would have!

The coupe has a secret weapon I didn't plan to do. The chassis came out heavy, so I substituted a torquey-er motor and discovered that the car was glued to the track and zippy. The weight keeps the motor from being too much to handle in the turns, and the strong motor makes it fast. Harry's going to have fun with that booger on the 4th with all those red, white and blue cars. It will be a bulldozer on the oval.

Glad you like 'em, guys. I've been refining an idea I had a long time ago for combining copper clad circuit board material (fiberglass), with brass shapes to make a light, tough chassis. Neither of these have it, but I also have been cutting some of them to produce flex for the drive unit. The best discovery so far is that if I cut the flex too much, all I have to do is screw on a small bolt and washers with a nut that slides in the cut. That makes the flex infinitely adjustable.

I've also been experimenting with materials and tooling for exhausts. The Tudor has fat solder feeding an aluminum dump pipe, the coupe has thinner solder feeding a brass pipe that is flanged at the tip. They are both painted with Metalizer, but I didn't seal them and you can see the result- the brass is showing through from shipping rubs. Those rubs also got to the running board on the left side I see. Doesn't matter- There's going to be some violence going on when they hit the oval. Its just an advance set of battle scars!

Jeremy- Its actually okay with me for Harry to send them on to you to run on your oval. That coupe is a lot of fun, but it will wear your trigger finger right out. The Tudor runs like all of them do, its just a little noisier without any sound dampening hot glue around the drive unit on the chassis.

Dude, if I could make the trip, I'd be there and at HRW with bells on. I'd make the return trip by way of Louisville and Cincinnati, too. Maybe I'd better get to work on the flux capacitor after all.
