I think it looks good. Reminds me of asphalt or concrete that has seen many miles and weather. It looks better than a all black surface to me.

I agree with Harry and Jon. My oval is basically black and yours looks lots better. Once you get some laps turned on it, it will look even better.
Hope you're feeling better soon.

That's a great look . What is the foot print size of your track .
I hope you don't mind , I was checking out your desk area and that big wooden office chair . Nice

The paint effect looks good - go with that...
Once it is rubbered in it will look even better. Looks like nice wide turns with a gradual transition into the straights - should make for great racing and car control.
Great to see Freeport resurrected!
Also like those coupes - I am currently building a yellow #7 Tom Baldwin coupe of my own.

I spent a couple summers working there, but can I remember the color of the surface? Naaaaah.

I think it looks good.
I re-did my oval in dark grey and browns and the effect is that of churned-up mud and ash, very much like the look you've achieved - but not as good.
Nice to see you're still in action,by the way!
David.
ps: we know about mud in UK!

Looks great !!! I especially like the way you chicaned the turns, i've been doing that for years. All the tracks in our club, MBRA, are similar cichaned to varying degrees, it helps to equalize the competion and the lane length.

Wood,
what I can remember about Freeport was if you followed the outside line from 3 into 4 when you got to four it lead right into the fourth turn wall. I had the pleasure to wheel our 56 Chevy Sedan around in1964 in warm ups and many a car fell victim to the fourth turn wall. The ball field was between 3 and 4 with a wooden crash fence that would splinter when hit. It was removed years later when the track was enlarged to a quarter mile. The color looks ok but I remember it darker, and lots of painted RR ties scattered around the inside. I love your converging lanes adds to the realistic look and makes better drivers. We had a track in East Islip LI back in the 70s that was 28X8 with the converging lanes and it was a gas. keep plugging along Wood, we are all pulling for you here at East Jefferson Speedway,
Bill (JIMMY X3) :text-bravo:

Thanks Bill,
The track is darker..the pics seem to make it look lighter, And I do have a fly apart wood wall on 3 and 4..plus the dreaded rail road ties.. I have a tone of plans for this track, a never ending fun project..
The track runs Awesome..and you can throw on as many ghost cars as you wish.making it a blast getting by on the turns..lots of bumping, side scraping racing and you need to time it right to get by..I am really happy how it works..timing works great also..
it is great to have 3 different style ovals .. but this new one my fav so far..
I want to get more done and will post a full build up of the track..
Thanks woodguy32
