I suspect that the lack of plastic track in a convenient angle keeps people from doing a classic D or Tri Oval. One of our routed tracks is a trioval with banking only at one end. It is a blast to run on.

That looks like a fun track .You will have to drive a little different in each curve, which to me is a good thing!

I really like it. Wouldn't bank it too much but slightly different angles at opposite ends of the track.
Like Rusty said, ya have to drive a bit different each turn, makes the boys have to really think about their moves.
Chris.

thanks for your advises,
That's cool since I have all the needed tracks for this layout, so if it's approved by oval specialists... 8-)
When I designed this track, I made a few tests (withtout brakes) and it was more technic than I thought. In fact, it acts a bit like a road course, except you turn always left
Maybe I could change one side of the track, with a big parabolic r3-r4 turn
Last night when sleeping, I also thought that I could probably make a wall folding track for this design...
Thanks

One of our guys had a track configured like this, and it was a lot of fun. There is a lot of action, and like you said, it's sort of like a road course where everything turns left. :)

Here is a similar track. Tracks of this sort are more difficult to race on than you would expect.

The different turns are a huge benefit. Keep'em. It allows cars with different handling characteristics to excel on different portions of the track. Our track is a straight oval with uniform turns. We've tilted it slightly so that there is an uphill and downhill end. It makes the turns drive very differently, and this has been good for racing.

That's a good point.
I had another idea (I always have ideas once 1 or 2am  ), maybe I could make a semi permanent track, so I could test and drive diferent track layouts. The foldable track support will be permanent, but probably not the track.
I already built 2 scenery tracks, now I'm searching for fun and racing. We'll see, I still can change my mind a thousand times.
