As a matter of fact,my wife is working on an MP3 loop of track sounds ,I am wiring up some PC speakers under the buildings,should have some cool effects coming soon! And thanks you for the weathering tips,i think the hut came out right too.

BT, we have a little track up here in Brighton, and I would swear you have recreated it.
Your eye for detail is just plain awesome. Looking at the pics, makes you feel as if you are right there at the track.

You are the only other person I have ever seen build a Quonset hut. I though I was alone in that. Out west we used to race a lot on old airports (Santa Barbara and Santa Monica) and SCCA still races occasionally at a place called Holtville down by San Diego, they all had Quonset huts on them at one time or another.

Yours look really great!! Nice job and spot on.

That hut is there because my old home town track in Illinois,had one in the infield,it was rented by a local car club to use as a club garage.they also did welding and cutting on race nites,for anyone who was in need of a repair between heats. the particular one I used was from a kids playset {unknown origin),I weathered it and set it up as I remembered the old original.I think they later used it as a tech area for contested cars. there were a lot of old surplus Quonset huts used around the southern dirt tracks as well.

You did just a killer job on that one!! :music-rockout: . Could be at any one of our local older airports out west here or, as I mentioned at Holtville, Santa Barbara, Tustin or Santa Monica.

Interesting thing about Tustin in Orange County, just south of L.A.: They also have several hangars from World War two that were used to park and work on dirigibles. Those things are huge!! Way to big to fit on a slot car track. They are made from the same kind of corrugated tin and have held up a really long time.
