Last night marked the debut of a new Shoreline Model Raceways track. As you can see from the picture the track is shaped rather like a boomerang. The track is fast, but the kinks in the straightaways make it a lot more interesting to drive than a regular oval.

This track can be configured in three (3) different layouts:
1) Short oval (1 straight section on each side)
2) Long oval (2 straight sections on each side)
3) Oval with kink (shown in Rich's picture)
Agree with Rich - the kink configuration made for some very interesting (and close) racing!

Could I ask what the radius of the inside lane is?

Looks to be about 36 inches. The 180 corners are cut from a 4X4 foot sheet. If I remember I will inquire at our next race.

The 1:1 Trenton track had a reverse kink in the back straight. This track would be a trioval with a reverse kink in the long straight. As long as you are getting good grip both kinks can be taken flat out, but that affects the way the cars enter the 180 corners. If you were in the outside lane it seemed like the straight going into the first turn was going downhill! The cars in the inside lane would often slap the wall going through the kink in the back straight.
