My friend has routed a 3 lane oval. He is looking to use dead strips in the lap counting system. He only wants to count laps. Any suggestions on scratch built or commercial products matching the criteria? Thank you for any and all help.

Would you know if this system could operate off ambient light instead of a light bridge?

Mine does not. I tested it.

Not sure if Trackmate has a system that only counts laps. I believe they all give lap times as well. In any
event, Trackmate is the best there is.

If your using deadstrip activation,is ambient light an issue? I was under the assumption that it was an electrical impulse from the tape strips? I could be wrong.

If you want timing, Dave's deal is a low cost, one stop shop. I'd buy it myself if I didn't already have two complete timing systems and four computers to run it on.

I thought the laptop timer was already sold. Even though my new track is only 2 lanes I'll do a deal if it's still available. Don't want to cut anyone else out though. I've got cars to trade but no vintage NASCAR's so am willing to pay the asking price.
