Just wondering how small

A space and still get a nice bullring in 1:32.
For instance can you but one in a 3x11 space or smaller.
I ask this cause myself and my boy are discussing the size of an oval
he wants a 3'x4' and I said that is to small to have a some what of a straight. away. of any kind and you probably couldn't have more than two lanes.
Could one of you help us end this debate. so we can start getting the material and get building.

Sure, I would stick with 2 lanes at that width and just build it.

Layout the dimensions on the floor with some paper, take a look at what you will have.



That is my first routed "bullring". More of a true oval really. In any case it was 4x8.

We had fun on it.

So at 3 x 11 I suspect you could as well. We sometimes always want to squeeze as many lanes in as we can...but the truth is a lot of times we don't need to.

Nothing wrong with a 2 laner. Important thing is the fun you and your son will have building it and racing each other.

I myself ain't. worried about how many lanes it's having racing width.
it looks like two lanes is the way to go.
I would like a 6 inch outside. gutter and a 4 inch in side and the way it is looking we go with 3 and 3/4 inch lane spacing.
With that spacing we could build and run 1:25 &1:24 also but with that size it will be a fender banging good time I think.
I just laid some cardboard down and it looks like we will be able to go forty two in width so I could do a three lane but I thinkI'llstay at two.
Will let you all know when I finish the mock up.

Our oval will be some thing like Harry's old track and yours.
