Showdown Test & Tune - VIP day

Postby HomeRacingWorld » Sun Jan 18, 2015 10:07 am

"Strangebrew" from our forum is coming on his first visit to HRW Skunkworks today. Hopefully he enjoys himself a little. Bratwurts on the menu as the weather is fantastic. Had to clean up the old dungeon a little too.

This is about as good as it gets.

Have some 1/25 running at speed to warm up the Show-Me :)

Will be testing all the Sportsman Showdown cars we have on hand today.

Image

Of course just about anything else we can squeeze in today.

Hope the rest of you are enjoying your weekend.

Hey Harry!

Wow, how organized your workbench area is!!!

I like your muscle car curtains around the layout to hide the storage underneath.

Great looking line up of cars to race also!

Enjoy!

Thanks guys.

Ok, so I decided to test the STINKER 2.0 offset chassis against a standard. As I expected there is no real advantage.

First a traditional inline.

RMS NOVA II. MT5 - 9/27 Slot.it gearing. 15x10 CB Design wheels. XPG shoes.

Next our new Ford.
Same gearing/gear.

As you can see there is no major time difference. Yes, the NOVA is a smaller car but it's in our series.

Others will disagree, but at our track there is no real advantage.

Fun to do though :)

Had a great visit today. it's amazing to me, but Mr. Brew and I raced 1:1 cars back "in the day" where I grew up. We had a LOT to talk about. Did manage to do some racing though :)

His cars are a blast.

He enjoyed himself :) After some bratwurts our lap times got better and we had a quite a slotfight going.

Thanks for visiting today. Had a great time and look forward to our next visit.

Thank you Harry for the run down on the offset. and your regular chassie.
I kind of thought they would be close but I was thinking the offset would have a little bit of an edge in the corners.

Thanks to Harry & his boss for the brats & hospitality........Picked up some speed tips also.
I only crashed Harry's car once. Looks like I ought to be having a better time though.
