Thanks to Strangebrew, and then The General doing her searches we found a photo of the car I pit crewed on when I was a young man.

Spent 2 years on this team. I practically lived there and learned a lot about cars to say the least.
Some people have asked why I made the chassis frames I did in 1/24 look the way they do.

Now you know. :) This is how many cars looked at our speedway.
Any way, I am just happy to finally find a photo of it.

Earlier variations.

Now this one? This is what the guys around there referred to as a "hammer".

Got Camber?

Great pics Harry! Small world, I had a friend that lived in Decatur, and we went to that track a few Saturdays to watch the races.
Sometime around 73-74?

I didn't go to Highland much as a youngster. My cousin's husband drove there for years. He had a Hemi-powered '33 Dodge coupe. His biggest prize was a 20 pound wheel of cheese given to the last place finisher one night. That was his biggest payoff.
Who was the driver of 441?

Dang, guys! I had a '72 Vega GT Coupe, and my wife had a '73 GT Kammback Wagon. We thought we had the record for over 100,000 miles on a Vega without burning oil at all on both of them. Hers lasted 156,000 miles without burning oil, but it wasn't worth anything when we traded it because everybody else destroyed their engines overheating. Mine was at 110,000 miles when I traded it for a paint job on a '65 Mustang I was working on.

Chris Bargetzi drove it. I had a 64 Impala with a tired 283 and mismatched tires I drove occasinally in the old "Bomber" division.
The cheese prize was something I remember :) It was sponsored by The old Swiss Colony store that was outside of town. I think near Troy was it? Too old...sigh.
