As a companion to my '40 Willys Gasser, I decided to kick off a non-gasser style '38 Ford Van.
Picked up this kit as a starting point...




I raided my extra wheels from the Willys kit for something that was more "drag appropriate" for the van. I have to say I am happy with how the mock up looks! :)




Ace Hardware just happens to have their paint on sale again this month (two for $6), so it is Ace Premium Orange for the body (currently drying) - haven't decided if I am going to go two tone with the fenders yet - but still need those for mocking up the chassis, so they have to wait for a bit on paint yet anyway. :)

Yes, yes - I think this color is going to fit this build nicely! :D

You can never go wrong with a race car painted orange.

The main body is in orange, grill is matte black, fenders white - put it back together for another mock up... not sure on the white fenders with black grill... May tie together better with the chrome headlight buckets installed - but may need a chromed grill instead of black... :)

Really nice work. Too bad more of this type of model kit aren't available in 1/32 scale - my track isn't big enough for this scale.

I am on vacation and just came out of a hobby shop stacked with 1/24
Scale cars and all I could find was a 1/32 fast back Chevy. Too bad there weren't more 132 kits
