I know a guy thats got a 1\24 scale track, with a forty foot straight, its plastic but my cars run on it, 175 feet per lap

A proper 1/4 mile track in 1/24 scale would be 55 feet with sufficient shutdown area say 20 feet or so with either magnetic braking or glue. Parma pink traction compound medium works well for glue shutdown. :)

You could always do 1/8 mile, 27.5 feet. I've ran on a few of them. You just have to gear a little different. :)
